At Tago no Ura - the mouth of the Fuji River - the waves are pushed back away from the beach by the force of the river. Occasionally, a particularly large and powerful wave manages to push its way through to the shore, the stones of which are tossed about and make a chaotic rattle. This literally only happens once every few minutes though: shut your eyes and you could forget you were even at the seaside, but every once in a while you'll be bought back to reality. Rather than being playful or threatening, the waves at this particular spot sound restrained and uneasy.
